A tip from me when choosing jeans - stay with your regular AUS size unless indicated on the product description, if you choose the bigger size you may find them too big in the bottom and thighs, and will be hitching them up all the time, as most maternity jeans sit underbelly. The jeans may feel a little snug at first but remember that the denim will give with each wear and wash.

When I clicked on the "warm pants" link in the Idea Bank, I assumed that those two words were referring to long pants, perhaps made of heavy material meant to keep you toasty from your ankles to your waist. My mind immediately flashed back to high school, when my whale corduroy pants made whishing noises as I walked. Those were bad, they sometimes chaffed the inside of my thighs. Not something one ever spoke of with friends but I'm sure they must have all had the same problem. Okay, I thought, this should be an easy and fun topic. I started to do some online searching, trying to figure out what types of information I would include in my hub. That's when I realized how out of touch I am. Turns out, there are other types of warm pants that in no way resemble those trendy yet uncomfortable ones of my past. So, which one did they want a hub about? Are These the Right Warm Pants? Good question! Apparently, the phrase means different things to different people. Let's start with the sporty version of warm pants. There is a product called Warm Pants. This is an industry specific item, mainly for football players and other athletic people. While I'm still a warm pants novice, after some research, I do know a few things for sure: Warm pants are not long. In fact, they're shorts, albeit long (knee-length) shorts They are made of neoprene Warm pants are very tight fitting They are popular with professional athletes Warm pants are worn to treat, prevent or protect injuries These are also known as compression pants These warm pants have a flexible crotch, which allows for free movement while wearing them. They are popular with athletes who are suffering from groin, hamstring or pelvic injuries or hernias. The neoprene construction offers the type of support that helps prevent further injury and discomfort and is great to ward off such things in the first place. Warm pants also keep you warm. They hold in body heat and keep out the wind and cold. That means that your muscles stay warm and relaxed. This alone, will decrease the number of injuries. Update 2017: Does anyone know if this product is still available somewhere? I couldn't find it. Maybe these things are called something else now? Maybe This Is What They Meant Hmmm, I wonder if that was the kind of warm pants that HubPages meant when they listed them in the Idea Bank. Well, just in case, here's another type. These skin tight pants certainly would not be form flattering on me but then, that's probably not what they're for. In fact, if I'm not mistaken, they are meant to be worn beneath your pants to keep you nice and warm when it's cold outside and I'll bet they are excellent for that. Another thought: if I wore these under my cords, I wouldn't have chaffed thighs. Or Maybe This Add the word, "up" and you get a different kind of warm pants. Warm up pants may be styled for the athletically inclined but anyone and everyone can wear them, from little ones to the 'more mature' adult. Warm up pants (a.k.a. jogging pants and sweat pants) are very comfortable and as they usually have an elastic waist and drawstring, it doesn't much matter how big around you are. That's not to say that there are not people for whom warm up pants are less than flattering. Generally speaking though, they make great casual wear. There are lots of different warm up pants. They are available in tons Mens Compression Pants of sizes, colours and styles, including ones that are decorated with your favourite sports team's logo. I Just Can't Resist I have to mention those corduroy pants again! Mine were brown but they're available in many colours and styles. In my day, they were hip huggers. I don't even know if you can get those anymore. Something I do know though, is that they are (or at least were) very warm pants. If only they hadn't chaffed! Do they still do that? Hope I've Hit It Well, I'm hoping that I've included at least one of the types of warm pants that the HubPages Idea Bank wanted. I'm honestly not sure. By Nick Paulson Ellis
Just tuning in for our compression coverage? This, the final part of our three-part series, focuses on how to choose compression tights that are right for you. As mentioned in part 1, compression tights are not like a normal pair of leggings. They are trickier to pull on to start with, and also to get http://www.letileggings.com/mens-apparel them off around the ankle and foot afterwards, given the lower leg is where the compression is greatest. Often when people first try them on, they wrongly assume they need to move up a size, but whilst this may feel more comfortable and familiar, it can often undermine the benefits of the compression. Photo source The size you choose should be based on your weight and height, not on typical sportswear measurements. Below are the 2XU size guides based on this for women and men. If you are borderline between two sizes, opt for the smaller size to ensure you get the benefits. While you might feel a bit squished, the added benefit is they are super flattering! For women For men In terms of getting the appropriate levels of compression to deliver the benefits, all the 2XU gear we stock is tested using the Salzmann Pressure Measurement Device to ensure the correct mmHg ratings. This is the same testing process used in medical compression. This means the correct pressure is applied in the right areas, with the defined pressure applied at the lower limb, and the graduated compression meaning pressure decreases from bottom to top, promoting blood flow from the lower extremities back up to the heart. Here's a list of our compression products with their respective mmHg ratings: What should you use compression tights for? The obvious sports are running and other high intensity activities, and these are where you will see the greatest benefits, but increasingly people are wearing compression for lower impact activities as well. 2XU is also moving in the direction of more sport specific compression with its MCS (Muscle Containment Stamping) range, adjusting support depending on the dynamics of movement of different sports - for example introducing a new Cross-Fit MCS tight from Autumn Winter 16 http://www.letileggings.com/mens-apparel onwards. Which 2XU tights or socks should I choose? SOCKS In terms of socks, there are two main choices: 1. For long haul travel, or for recovery purposes only, then choose the 24/7 socks for men or women 2. For running, opt for the Performance compression socks for men or women TIGHTS For tights/leggings, there are two main 2XU categories, Standard Compression and Elite MCS. The main differences with the Elite MCS are a higher denier, greater pressure (as seen the table above), and MCS muscle stamping - this is a fabric support system traced over key muscles and tendons, designed to focus compression and further reduce muscle oscillation and damage. Some women in particular aren't keen on the aesthetics of this muscle mapping, so the choice may also come down to visuals vs. performance. 2XU Standard Compression tights still deliver appropriate graduated compression. What about the waistband? The other consideration in the women's range is on the waistband, with 2XU introducing a new mid rise waistband in 2015 in addition to the traditional waistband with a drawstring tie built in. The mid rise waistband has become increasingly popular with customers using the leggings for a wide variety of activities, whilst the traditional waistband remains popular with runners who want the security of a drawstring. The mid-rise waistband. Winter Running The other compression options from 2XU for winter running are HYOPTIK tights (and other garments), with reflective logos to make sure you stay visible when running in low light conditions. These come in both standard and thermal brushed backed versions. Is compression a fad? Whilst there is work still do to validate all the claims made about the benefits of compression, and in particular there is some inconsistency in the effects on performance across studies, there is now adequate evidence of a protective and recovery effect against muscle soreness and damage. There is real science behind the compression trend, and it isn't a passing fad. 2XU in particular is making some brilliant compression products that keep getting better. They will help you recover faster, and hence train harder. They might even give you a slight performance benefit, even if it is only through making you feel faster. They aren't a cure all, and don't expect miracles, but there really is a place for compression garments in any athletes' wardrobe. Feeling inspired to get compressed? Nearly each one of them sports one of those tight-fitting, body-hugging suits or shorts underneath their regular sport uniforms. Not only runners or track event athletes, but cyclists, basketball players, baseball players, footballers, and cricketers too, make use of these body-hugging clothes during training and actual play. Well, for starters, this particular piece of clothing, in sports terminology, is formally referred to as 'compression clothing'; and naturally, the aforementioned knee-length shorts are referred to as 'compression shorts'. In the following sections of this article, we will have a look at the uses of compression shorts for running, and in general, various advantages of compression shorts.
Uses of Compression Shorts So, why are these shorts increasingly being used by athletes and sportspersons all over the world? Also, are compression shorts for men different from those for women? Or is a pair of these shorts a unisex clothing product? Let us try to answer all these questions. Basically, the fundamental principle behind compression clothing is to provide proper support to the different set of muscles that are actively being used by the athlete, and at the same time, to provide enough comfort to the athlete as well. As far as the design aspect is concerned, yes, compression shorts can largely be termed as a unisex clothing product. However, there do exist certain design variations that are designed exclusively or specifically for one gender. For example, a few designs for men are equipped with a frontal pocket, so as to hold an abdomen guard in place. Material-wise, a pair of compression shorts (or in general, compression clothing) is made up of a combination of nylon, Lycra, spandex, etc. They are stretchable and designed in such a way, so as to offer the wearer compression pants a snug, comfortable fit. Also, designs differ from sport to sport. For example, compression shorts designed for a cyclist would be different from those designed for a sprinter, cricketer, footballer, etc. Now, regarding the question as to why athletes wear them, well, the answers lie in the following paragraph. Benefits ? For any sport that involves a good degree of running, jogging, or jumping, there is a great deal of load and pressure that is exerted on the thighs and on the upper leg muscles. This point is further accentuated in the sport of cycling (in spite of it not involving either running or jumping). It is important to maintain the leg muscles in an optimum working condition so that the athletes are able to perform to their maximum potential. Compression shorts aim to do just that. ? Thanks to their material, they apply a uniform compressive force all over the thigh and leg muscles and keep them in place. This minimizes any wastage of athlete's effort and energy on account of improper muscle positioning or movement. ? Many a time, an athlete may pull a hamstring, may suffer from muscle pain, or any other thigh-related injury due to improper cushioning or support to the thigh muscles. Using a suitable pair of compression shorts can reduce the chances of such incidents. ? Compression shorts also protect the thigh and groin from rubbing against each other and in the process, causing skin rashes or reddening of the skin due to friction. ? Owing to the compact support and firmness that compression shorts offer, many athletes find them to be a good way of improving their performance in their respective sport. ? Certain types of compression shorts are also able to provide odor protection. At the same time, they are designed to transfer sweat and moisture faster from the skin to the outer surface of the fabric. ? These types of shorts also aid in faster muscle recovery during the 'cooling down' period at the end of an athlete's workout or training session. So, if you're an aspiring athlete or sportsman, you may want to head to the nearest sports store and buy yourself a pair. Danskin leggings are a very popular fashion trend nowadays. We see them in catwalks, on our favorite celebrities, and even on the street. However, this trend doesn't always look good. There are a few things you need to consider when wearing leggings. Because they can be a little hard to pull off, not everyone has a perfect legging fashion record. You need a little research and some fashion sense to get this trend to work. it can be very fashionable, but there's always that fine line between classy and tacky. These do's and don'ts might be able to help make wiser fashion choices when it comes to leggings.
Legging Do: Leggings worn with tight short skirts. Layering Danskin leggings with a very short skirt can give you enough coverage; when we say short, we mean mid-thigh white yoga pants length and above. Leggings add a bit more oomph to any short skirt. It also makes wearing very short skirts (that only cover your butt) appropriate enough for everyday wear. Legging Don't: Leggings worn with flared, loose or pleated mini-skirts. This is a big no-no. It completely confuses the look as you want it to be sleek and smooth, not a disastrous mix of girly and rock-chick. Legging Do: Leggings with very short shorts. Danskin leggings worn with very short shorts give you a laid back, punk-rock feel without being too over the top. You can wear this with some high heeled ankle boots to give it a little bit of glamour. Choose lengths that go until your mid-thigh or above. Any shorter will confuse the look, and you'll barely be able to see the leggings. By the way, choose leggings that go up until your knee is best. Legging Don't: Leggings that scream color. Neon yellow, pink or orange leggings and footless tights are out! They look tacky, and are not really appropriate to wear during a night out. Stick to simple, basic colors for patterns in Danskin leggings, stick to clean and simple ones. Something to over the top will be overkill. Legging Do: Leggings with a dress. Danskin leggings and dresses can work, but only when worn correctly. Only jersey knit dresses or very short dresses work with leggings. You will also have to choose footwear that is appropriate. Flats or knee high boots usually work. However, this "do" can easily become a "don't" if you choose the wrong dress. The wrong footwear and length of the leggings can aggravate the situation. Dress carefully - don't overdo it. Legging Don't: Leggings worn with high socks. Danskin leggings and socks are not a good combination. This is most probably inspired from an aerobic-crazed 80's, when leg warmers and tights with leotards were all the rage. However, this is not a good look. You're much better off wearing your leggings with boots, if you must wear something high. The leggings are already underwear to protect your legs and you don't need another piece of clothing to cover them up. It would be completely pointless. It is not rare to find that one does not perfectly fit into a new undergarment or outfit. This can be a frustrating event. This is especially frustrating considering that so many designs these days seem to require a perfect body. To name a few there are vests, waist cinchers, body control garments, long pants, short, panties, thongs, and the list goes on and on.

Should guys wear spandex and compression shorts? How to flirt with a woman while she is doing cardio? From tips on clothes, fashion, workout gear, behavior and personality - this post gives revealing advice for guys who think that big biceps and monstrous shoulders are all it takes to hook up with girls at the gym.
Impress a girl at the gym: Personality and behavior tips 1) Aim to impress her with your personality, not with your muscles Looking macho is a core part of every man's ego drive but most guys make the mistake of trying to impress girls with their bulging biceps rather than their charming personalities. Always remind yourself that it is your personality and charm which will help you to impress a girl at the gym. 2) Don't try to impress her with how much weight you can lift Many guys also make the mistake in believing that the amount of weight they lift is directly proportional to how impressive they look in a gym. This is totally untrue, especially from a girl's perspective. Don't flirt with her by trying to show off how many hundreds of pounds you can bench press or how you can do your bicep curls with the biggest dumbbells in the rack. 3) Have a comfortable body language: Don't be stiff and puffed up Puffing up and carrying a stiff body in an attempt to impress girls is a common sign of attraction in men. But this can also make you look like a weird muscle freak in the gym. Here are some pointers if you want to look carry confident body language and look attractive in the gym. Stand straight and hold your head in a straight line to your torso Don't inhale and push your chest out to make yourself look bigger Don't keep clenching your muscles to make them look ripped Keep your shoulders wide, but relaxed Loosen up your body and don't seem uptight 4) Don't keep staring at a girl when she is working out Staring at a girl continuously while she is working out will make her think that you are some kind of weirdo. You can look at a girl by stealing a few flirty glances but don't keep staring at her like a pervert. 5) Don't seem obsessed with your workout You will look like a gym freak if you seem obsessed and meticulous about your workouts all the time. It is good to be dedicated to your training routine but you will turn a woman off if you seem a bit too aggressive. This includes avoiding loud grunting and going at the weights as if they were the only priority in your life. Girls like guys who keep fit, but not at the cost of making fitness a priority over everything else. So don't behave like a monster by continuously attacking the weights or a cardio freak who hogs the treadmills or elliptical. 6) Smell handsome: Wear a nice men's cologne Smelling nice should be a number one priority if you want to impress a girl at the gym. Spray on a good deodorant, cologne or perfume before you reach the gym. Keep a small bottle of your favorite men's fragrance in your gym bag so that you can spray some on after you finish your workout, just in case you manage to get a coffee date with the girl you like. 7) Wipe off that sweat: Carry a personal gym towel with you all the time Most girls will agree that the sight of a guy dripping in sweat is generally a put off. Everyone expects you to be a little sweaty in the gym but that does not mean you should leave sweat all over the workout floor. Carry a personal gym towel with you and dab your forehead, neck and arms continuously. If your body tendency is to sweat profusely, there are many workout specific t-shirts available in the stores which have moisture management and anti-odor technologies. 8) Build a rapport with everyone at the gym A girl will instantly notice you in the gym if you are the guy who knows just about everyone on the gym floor. Build a rapport with the trainers, gym staff and others who generally come at the same time as you do. Girls are naturally attracted to guys who are friendly with everyone. This personality trait makes guys look approachable and easy going. This may be slightly tough for guys who are shy but there is a solution. Instead of being a loud extrovert who shouts his compression leggings hi's and hellos across the gym floor, shy guys can acknowledge someone's presence with a confident nod. These nods will later evolve into small conversations. Impressing a girl at the gym: Meeting, talking and conversing 1) Make eye contact and smile if she looks at you Just like every other flirty situation in life, your smile is your biggest asset when you are trying to flirt with a girl. Make eye contact with her and let out a cute smile if she looks at you. If she smiles back, it will instantly break the ice between both of you. 2) Don't interrupt her workout It is time to find an opportunity to start a conversation with the girl after you have made eye contact and exchanged smiles with her. But don't do this while she is busy working out. Your behavior will come across as rude if you make her put down her weights in the middle of a set or if you make her step away from the treadmill when she was at her peak. 3) Don't offer to spot or give advice unless she asks Another common mistake many guys make while trying to impress a girl at the gym is when they offer to spot her. Don't encroach on her space and let her enjoy her workouts. If she wants you to spot, she will ask you. The same applies for giving unnecessary advice on exercise movements and body form. If you think that she is working out in a way that could harm her body, talk to one of the gym staff and let them guide her. You can take the brownie points later by telling her that you noticed the potentially harmful body movements. 4) Don't ask a girl to spot you You will annoy a girl if you ask her to spot you regardless of how light you are lifting. Unless you personally know the girl, asking her to spot you should completely be off-limits. 5) Talk about something other than gym and working out Don't start a boring conversation with a girl at the gym by talking about workouts, diet plans and other fitness related stuff. Instead, talk about something else. Here are a few topics that you can use to start a healthy conversation. Talk about hobbies Ask a woman about her profession Ask a girl what she does in life apart from working out Movie buffs can gossip about celebrities and upcoming movies New restaurants and shops that have opened in the area 6) Give her compliments for her workout You will come across as obnoxious if you start complimenting a girl on her good looks immediately after you have broken ice with her. But that does not mean you shouldn't use flattery to make her feel good. Give her compliments about her workout and say things that indirectly hint towards the fact that you are attracted to her. Below are a few examples. Your form is perfect, are you a pro? Most girls would die to be able to effortlessly glide over that treadmill like how you do The way you exercise show that you are really committed about fitness I could learn a thing or two about working out from you Use these compliments as a platform on which you can build and later give her direct compliments for her look and maybe even her figure. 7) Add her on Facebook after you break ice with her A few flirty conversations should be enough to make you be able to add her on Facebook without looking like a stalker. Look her up on the social network and add her as a friend. Don't bombard her timeline with silly messages immediately after she responds to your friend request. Adding her on Facebook will give you lots more to talk about when you meet her in the gym. Use updates from your feed to start conversations with her. For example, on Monday you can ask her 'So, your pictures say that you had a pretty wild weekend?' 8) Ask her if she wants to meet outside the gym You must act fast after you have started having a conversation with her at the gym. Subtly ask her if she is seeing anyone and think about ways of asking her out on a date. You will be forever stuck in the friend zone and become her loyal workout buddy if you don't express your attraction towards her. Here are a few lines you can use to ask her out on a date immediately after your workout session. I am feeling so hungry after this workout. Do you want to grab a sub? This workout makes me feel like grabbing a healthy salad. Do you want to join me? I am driving over to the new cafe that has opened up in the neighborhood. Join me for a cuppa? Impressing a girl at the gym: Clothes, fashion and workout gear 1) Wear ankle socks Ankle socks are the only type of socks you should be wearing on the gym floor. Knee high socks or those that sit on the shin are a complete fashion disaster. Quarter cut, low cut, runner socks and athletic socks are other names given to ankle socks. They generally sit right above the ankles. 2) Don't wear t-shirts that are too tight: Look cute with slightly worn out tops Guys wear body hugging t-shirts to show off their big biceps, bulging shoulders, inflated chests and ripped backs. Girls like a guy with a fit body but that does not necessarily happen by looking at men wearing tight t-shirts. Look like a friendly and approachable guy by wearing a comfortable t-shirt that looks natural. A slightly worn out top that has a bit of character will make you look cute. It is a myth that looking rich by wearing new branded apparel is the only way to get noticed at the gym. 3) Don't wear shorts that are too short or too long Training and athletic shorts that sit just above the knee look good on guys at the gym. Wearing shorts which are either too short or too long can give off a weird vibe. Avoid wearing those tiny running shorts or long basketball shorts which sit below your knees. 4) Avoid wearing spandex at the gym Spandex and compression clothing looks good on bodybuilders, cyclists or other professional athletes. Avoid such clothes unless you have a ripped body like a pro. Certain types of compression clothing, especially compression shorts, are engineered to benefit your workouts. So if you must wear compression shorts, wear a loose fitting athletic compression tights short over them. 5) Don't wear large headphones: Prefer earphones instead You don't necessarily need to bring your love for music on the gym floor by wearing large headphones. If you prefer carrying your personal music player to the gym, wear earphones instead. Apart from looking good, earphones will also allow you to tune into some of the background chatter and hear on what the girl is up to. 6) Groom body hair If you want to look attractive on the gym floor, moderation and balance are the two most important words when it comes to managing manly body hair. For example, some girls will be put off if the dense fuzz on your chest hair is glaringly jutting out from the edges of your tank top while some women may be put off by a cleanly shaven look on your torso. Take tips from heartthrobs like Hugh Jackman and groom your body hair in a way that doesn't take your overall look to either extreme. |
